One problem
MARC must die!
To which MARC responds, “I’m not dead yet!”

And another challenge
Cataloging must be attend to both the present and the future
Records must continue to be pushed out
But the current model is changing

RDA
But what is RDA? Gloss on MARC21?
Or Linked Data?

RDA will eventually inspire new serializations
Meanwhile, libraries have growing piles of non-MARC metadata

Usability matters, and not just for patrons
Catalogers have to handle a lot of records
