  1. 1. IMAGES OF THE E-TYPE AT 50! gary marlowe IMAGES OUT OF THE ORDINARY AUGUST 2011
  2. 2. IMAGES OUT OF THE ORDINARYABOUT THE E-TYPEARGUABLY THE WORLD’S MOST ICONIC SPORTS CAR, THE JAGUAR E-TYPE CELEBRATES ITS 50TH BIRTHDAYIN 2011. DESIGNED BY SELF-PROCLAIMED AERODYNAMICIST, MALCOLM SAYER, ITS HARD TO BELIEVE THATTHE E-TYPE MADE ITS FIRST APPEARANCE IN 1961. FIFTY YEARS LATER IT STILL TURNS HEADS ANDATTRACTS ATTENTION FROM YOUNG AND OLD ALIKE. THERE ARE A NUMBER OF ACTIVITIES TAKING PLACETHIS YEAR TO MARK THE SPECIAL OCCASION INCLUDING A BRIEF OUTDOOR DISPLAY AT LONDON’S DESIGNMUSEUM. IN FEBRUARY 2011, I TOOK THE OPPORTUNITY OF SEEING IT FOR MYSELF - ALBEIT ON A DAY ASGREY AS THE CAR - AND PLAN TO ADD ADDITIONAL IMAGES AT OTHER EVENTS I’LL BE ATTENDING OVERTHE SUMMER. ON 1 MARCH (ANOTHER COLD AND GREY DAY) NO LESS THAN 50 E-TYPES ARRIVED ATGOODWOOD EN ROUTE FROM COVENTRY TO GENEVA (RECREATING A FAMOUS DRIVE WHEN THE FIRST EVERE-TYPE WAS SHOWN AT THE GENEVA MOTOR SHOW) NOT ONLY WERE THERE SOME ICONIC E-TYPES TAKINGPART, BUT THEY ALSO TOOK TO THE TRACK. THE IMAGES FROM THAT EVENT NOW MAKE UP THE SECONDPART OF THIS COLLECTION. THE THIRD SECTION WAS SHOT AT SALON PRIVÉ AND THE LAST SECTIONFEATURES SOME OF THE E-TYPES AT THE 2011 GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED. I HOPE YOU LIKE THEM!INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY NOTICETHE IMAGES CONTAINED IN THIS PRESENTATION WERE CREATED BY GARY MARLOWE AND, WHILST BEINGAVAILABLE FOR VIEWING ON SLIDESHARE, THEY REMAIN THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OF GARY MARLOWE.© GARY MARLOWE | 2011 gary marlowe
