In Asdaghs

students worked with the village association
and three families to plant 120 new cherry
trees.

Through this old village, the highest in the Atlas
mountains, students walked to different plots of
land to plant trees.

Carrying shovels and pickaxes students made
it through the village on a foggy day.

People in the village warmly welcomed us as
visitors.

Locals watched us planting trees.

Professionals in rural development,
anthropology, environment, and medicinal
plants, helped guide the tree planting process.

The local people worked as our partners
in the process.

Through the course of the day students
helped dig108 holes for the new trees.

The holes were about 3 feet deep.

These trees were planted 2 years
ago. We hope that our trees look
like this in 2 years.
