      • Philadelphia is located on the eastern border of Pennsylvania.
      • The Appalachian Mountains to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east moderate the climate. Occasionally during the summer months the city becomes engulfed in ocean air that brings high humidity.
      • Precipitation is fairly evenly distributed throughout the year, with maximum amounts during the summer months occasionally flooding the Schuylkill River.
      • It was founded by William Penn .In 1681,Penn named this city Philadelphia .By 1701 he chartered this place as the City of Philadelphia,after that it established as an important trading center,at this time,Benjamin Franklin helped to improve city services.
      • Europeans arrived in the Delaware Valley in the early 1600s, with the first settlements founded by the Dutch, British and Swedish. After Sweden's first expedition to North America embarked in late 1637, the Swedes took control of land on the west side of the Delaware River from just below the Schuylkill River: today's Philadelphia, southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland.
      • The state government left Philadelphia in 1799 and the federal government left soon after in 1800, but the city remained the young nation's largest and a financial and cultural center.
      • They have many celebrations but what they celebrate most of the times is the art.
      • They are based on the democracy, so this has been always there in their government, that's why they are always elections.
