  • 3. Creativity in educational context
    • A product or process that shows a balance of originality and value. It is a skill, an ability to make unforeseen connections and to generate new and appropriate ideas.
    • Creative learning is therefore any learning which involves understanding and new awareness, which focuses on thinking skills.
    • Innovation is the application of such a process or product in order to benefit the educational process.
    • Innovative teaching is the process leading to creative learning, the implementation of new methods, tools and contents which could benefit learners and their creative potential.

  • 4. Online technologies …
    • … can foster creativity in the educational context using innovation ways of teaching
    • Web 2.0 technologies provide means for creativity like critical thinking & higher order thinking skills (McLoughlin & Mynard, 2009)
  • 5. Israel as a multi-culture society
    • In 2010, Israel's population was estimated 7.6 million.
    • 70% of the children are Jews and some 24% of the children are Muslim Arabs. The rest of the child population includes Christians Arabs, Druze and 2% who are registered as having no religion (Ben Arieh et al., 2003).
  • 6. The Jews in Israel
    • 16% of the Jewish child population includes Jews that came to Israel after January 1, 1990, mostly from the former USSR and Ethiopia.
    • About 10% of the Jewish children are Ultra-Orthodox
