  • 3. Creativity in educational context <ul><li>A product or process that shows a balance of originality and value. It is a skill, an ability to make unforeseen connections and to generate new and appropriate ideas. </li></ul><ul><li>Creative learning is therefore any learning which involves understanding and new awareness, which focuses on thinking skills. </li></ul><ul><li>Innovation is the application of such a process or product in order to benefit the educational process. </li></ul><ul><li>Innovative teaching is the process leading to creative learning, the implementation of new methods, tools and contents which could benefit learners and their creative potential. </li></ul><ul><li>(Based on: http://ftp.jrc.es/EURdoc/JRC52374_TN.pdf ) </li></ul>
  • 4. Online technologies … <ul><li>… can foster creativity in the educational context using innovation ways of teaching </li></ul><ul><li>Web 2.0 technologies provide means for creativity like critical thinking & higher order thinking skills (McLoughlin & Mynard, 2009) </li></ul>
  • 5. Israel as a multi-culture society <ul><li>In 2010, Israel's population was estimated 7.6 million. </li></ul><ul><li>70% of the children are Jews and some 24% of the children are Muslim Arabs. The rest of the child population includes Christians Arabs, Druze and 2% who are registered as having no religion (Ben Arieh et al., 2003). </li></ul>

The Jews in Israel <ul><li>16% of the Jewish child population includes Jews that came to Israel after January 1, 1990, mostly from the former USSR and Ethiopia. </li></ul><ul><li>About 10% of the Jewish children are Ultra-Orthodox </li></ul><ul><li>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHbCC8CH6VY </li></ul>
