English Powepoint Presentation

 1. 1. By: Logan Jackson AutoCAD
 2. 2.

AutoCAD is a computer assisted program that helps a person develop their ideas onto paper in one, two, or three dimensional drawings.

AutoCAD and its Features

A designer may draw buildings, wastewater treatment plants, cars, trucks, airplanes, to the simplest functioning mechanical item such as a bearing.

AutoCAD’s main purpose is to cut time in half on designing time and be much more sufficient in accuracy.

 3. 3. Oblique Drawings

Oblique drawings are drawn on Quadrille Sketch Pads and this is the ordinary squared graph paper.

Oblique drawings are drawn at a 45 degree angle making it easier to understand for the drafter.

These drawings start from a look at the object and extends at a angle of 45 degrees.

 4. 4. Isometric Drawings

Isometric drawings are drawn on a certain type of paper call Isometric Sketching Paper.

The paper looks like triangular squares and drawings are drawn along the angles of the lines giving itself a three dimensional look.

Since AutoCAD is available, this drawing is able to be applied to the program with a certified drafter.

 5. 5. Orthographic Drawings

Third and most important type of drawing method is the Orthographic method, which is also drawn on the Quadrille Sketch Pad.

Many drafters choose this method because of the views it displays.

The views are from the front, top, and side (right or left).

 6. 6. Plans on buildings

AutoCAD projections of plans shows every office and hallway space in a fine detail

Having these features gives a contractor a great way to understand what is to be built and how it should be placed.

Any details missed by the drafter will ultimately not allow the project to start because a inspector will disapprove the drawing.

 7. 7. Pipe Drawings

If you look, this pipe drawings is three dimensional meaning its been drawn in the Isometric method.

The drawing displays exactly how this piping system will look and operate.

It consist of basic geometrical shapes such as circles, lines, triangles, and fillets (not a geometrical shape, it’s a command of AutoCAD).

 8. 8. Floor Plans

This is a picture of final floor plans for a house displaying all of the features this house was designed to have.

These floor plans can be chosen by a customer at a contractors office when one wants to build their own house from there choice of floor plans making variety of houses built higher in percentage.

Displayed here is the two bedrooms, two full baths, laundry room (water feature), kitchen, and den/living room.

 9. 9. Examples of Student Drawings

As a student, we’re required to draw our objects in Orthographic views right now.

We have to have every dimension correct for our grade to be satisfactory.

Also, by making our drawings correct in dimension, we have to label the dimensions around the drawings so our instructor (contractor) will know the size of the object submitted.

 10. 10. AutoCAD

AutoCAD has helped many people exceed in the construction world today by helping drawing time be cut in half and allowing the economy to expand faster for better living conditions. Technology has also advanced because of AutoCAD since this program is able to produce any design making advanced technology possible to create. All in all, AutoCAD is a great invention and I’m happy I’ve chose this as my career path
