The purpose of both is different. Possible breakup cost could be: (a) Conveyance of trainers – Rs.500 (b) Honorium for the trainers – Rs.2,000 (c) Venue - Rs.1,000 (d) Rent for sound system – Rs.500 (e) Tea and snacks for participants - Rs. 1,000 (f) Training Material and Stationary - Rs. 1,000
  5. 5. Donation Option #2 - What would you do differently? Make a difference ! Donate Online at www.GiveIndia.org Tip # 2: Be as descriptive as possible. Answer the basics - What are the facilities? How will the donor be contributing to expand them? How many people will benefit from the expansion etc. The title could read: Help expand an Educational Centre/Library for Children The breakup cost details could be: Contribution (towards Fund) to expand an Educational Centre/Library for Children (which will be used for salary of staff, purchase of equipment etc.)

Avoid using terms donors are unfamiliar with. The title could be: Sponsor tests for a patient undergoing kidney transplantation The breakup cost could be: Cross Match Test (to test compatibility of donor and recipient) – Rs. 1,000 , Human Leukocyte Antigent (HLA) test (to determine tissue compatibility for organ donation) – Rs. 9,000

Donate Online at www.GiveIndia.org Tip #4: Specify or make it easy to understand how many people will benefit from the donation The title could be: Donate to the corpus of Annalakshmi Scheme ( Scheme to provide a free, healthy diet to the hospital’s patients) The breakup cost could be: Donation will build the corpus and i nterest on it will generate Rs. 125 (enough to meet the dietary needs of a patient for a day)

What impact will the donor make by making this donation? Be as descriptive as possible (in title and breakup cost) Give details in the breakup of the donation option, to make it comprehensible Answer the basics – What? How much? For how long? For whom? Include action verbs Include quantification and daily/weekly/yearly specifications/calculations, wherever possible

Include a quantification, whenever possible, detailing out yearly/weekly/monthly calculations (This could be education for 10 students, it could be providing a kilo of rice etc.) </li></ul><ul><li>6. Specify how many people can benefit from the donation </li></ul><ul><li>7. Etc. </li></ul><ul><li>Avoid terms that donors are unfamiliar with i.e. referred patient? </li></ul><ul><li>What impact will the donation make? </li></ul><ul><li>Include a quantification – Is it a one-time/monthly emergency cost that the donor is sponsoring? </li></ul>The title could be: Save a patient’s life by sponsoring transportation costs to bring him/her to the hospital at the time of an emergency The breakup could be : Cost of ambulance/bus/van to transport a patient, in need of emergency care, from his/her village to the hospital

Benefit Details Missing: What do the day-care expenses include? Where did she get the daycare expenses, at home or school? Impact: What was the impact/result of the donation?

  26. 26. <ul><li>3 – Resizing an Image </li></ul><ul><li>What is it? </li></ul><ul><li>When you resize an image, you increase/decrease its height/width or both, without adding/removing any part to/from it. </li></ul><ul><li>How to resize an image? </li></ul><ul><li>Right click on your image and open it with the photo editor installed on your computer (Eg: Microsoft Office Picture Manager) </li></ul><ul><li>Then go to Edit Pictures > Resize </li></ul><ul><li>A blue line with small blue circles at the corner, and small blue squares at the sides (on the border) will appear. Resize the image by adjusting one of the corner circles. This ensures that the image does not get stretched on resizing. NGOs that are able to break down their projects into DO amounts in the range of Rs.500 – Rs.15,000 - NGOs that have a base of retail donors and the ability to reach out to them. - NGOs that are participating in an event (such as a Marathon or Joy of Giving Week) and need a online payment gateway. - NGOs that have someone that wants to raise/donate a large amount to them.

Following details must be easy to find and correct – Email ID/Contact Number, Address, Different ways donors can support your NGO 6. Provide a link to your blog, Facebook, Orkut, Twitter etc. – so donors can choose the most convenient way to stay in touch with you 7. Whenever you do PR for your NGO, ensure that the article carries your website link in it

If you are a tier I NGO, payroll givers are already donating to you  Additionally, if you have any tieups with PRG companies, aim to encourage these payroll givers to donate to your NGO How can I promote Payroll Giving? - Encourage corporates who support your NGO to join the programme.
