  • Everything looks good inEMBASE
  • One of the other primary indexes in pharmacy is IPAAnd the CPJ is indexed there and I thought I’d share a few thoughts with you about what I found
  • Here is an actual recordYou can see that according to the index the name of th e journal is incorrect
  • From EMBASE & IPA we move to Google scholarOpen on the web, more visible than either of the previous two indexesNot an index but a search engineSo here are the top impact articles as cited in Google scholar and based on the number of times each article has been cited by other papers
  • A word you hear in website impact is “Search Engine Optimization” or SEOThe question I have is how findable is the CPJ website – because “you can’t really use /cite what you can’t find”What I’d like to consider is how can we make the CPJ easier to discover – what would be involvedFirst, is web design – and whether it’s set up for web users to discover via search engines; metadataDevelop strategy & direction – clear goalsConsider listing download numbers & traffic on CPJQuestion: What’s the fastest way to “promote CPJ”?
  • For the period March 3 to April 2, 2012, the top 10 sources of traffic to www.cpjournal.ca were: 1.     Google (organic)2.     Direct (none)3.     Pharmacists.ca (referral)4.     Facebook.com (referral)5.     Diabetespharmacists.ca (referral)6.     En.wikipedia.org (referral)7.     Osteoporosis.ca (referral)8.     Dir.pharmacy.dal.ca (referral)9.     Wls.1.apps.shoppersdrugmart:7093 (referral)10.  Wiki:allenpress.com (referral)
  • Self-archiving policy for authorsEnsure all articles are crawled by Google Consider some SEO / more descriptors / metadata for articles Developing a social media strategyOr, perhaps a specific Twitter account for Journal (CPJ)
