Edinburgh was built beside the Firth of Forth allowing them to get an easy access to water and fish.<br />Building Edinburgh near a river meant that the water could fertilize their crops and they could get water to drink.<br /> They built Edinburgh near an extinct volcano, Arthur’s Seat, which meant that they could see attackers from England and other places like Denmark and Norway.<br /> Since they lived near a river it meant that they would always have a stable food supply.<br />Environmental Factors!<br />

Living near the Firth of Forth.<br />The settled beside the Firth of Forth giving them water and fish to eat.<br />They protected them selves from invaders by building a big fortress on a hill.<br />And since they had a river beside the city they could use the river to travel and trade cargo.<br />Historical Factors!<br />
