The DREAM SEASON is COMPLETE!!!
The girls defeated Havenview 41-35 to make history is TN middle school basketball. They
came out of nowhere over a 3yr period to capture CMS's first ever GIRLS State Championship!
(the boys won 2 yrs ago) Havenview played a great game but the Lady Cougars prevailed
behind State Tourney MVP Shannon Sharp's 14 pts, 6 rebs & 5 steals. Shannon was amazing in
this game!!!
Zakyia Head had 11 big rebounds to go with 10pts & 2 blocked shots while making 4 out of 6
from the free throw line. Point guard Taelor Manning finished off her middle school career
with a well-rounded game of 6pts, 5rebs, 3 assists, 3 steals and 1 blocked shot. Taylor Williams
had 9pts(1 clutch 3-ptr), & 3 each of rebs, assists & steals. Kania Taylor gave her usual gutsy
effort even though the stat sheet didn't show it with 4rebs, 2pts & 1 steal. ENOUGH CANNOT
BE SAID FOR THE 3YR CAREERS OF #3 TAELOR MANNING, #32 SHANNON SHARP & #14 TAYLOR
WILLIAMS!!!
The team's 3yr record was 45 wins, 21 losses and 13 of those losses came in their 1st season!!
2YR PLAYERS KANIA TAYLOR AND ZAKYIA HEAD ALSO MADE GREAT CONTRIBUTIONS!! God
really blessed these girls with an amazing experience in their lives this season. We pray they
realize how blessed they are and that they use this memory as motivation to do great things in
the future!!!
