  • 2.  Formulating goals or aims to accomplish Selecting and organizing subject-matter Determining methods or procedures in planning Evaluating the effectiveness of the procedure Revision of Plan Giving the assignment
  • 3.  - 1st major elements in planning is preparing meaningful goals or aims for the proposed learning activity. - The teacher should plan challenging goals for the pupils in conformity with his own larger instructional aims and objectives. - The teacher should be familiar with them if she or he is to choose wisely daily tasks and unit aims and objectives.
  • 4.  - 2nd in planning selection and organization of subject-matter to be learned. - The teacher should anticipate what situations are to be met, what materials, activities, information, understanding, a nd skills are necessary to achieve the goals. - The teacher must possess a mastery of the subject-matter, instructional materials and activities that will provide the nucleus for classroom experiences. - The teacher believes will provide the best learning atmosphere for children.
  • 5.  - 3rd element in planning is determining how to proceed in developing the subject-matter or accomplish the goals or aims set up. - The teacher’s concern in planning is for the total growth and development of the pupils. - Modern method has both philosophical and psychological bases. - The teacher should try to incorporate a variety of procedures into her plans so that maximum efforts will be secured from the pupils; individual differences will be met, and boredom will be avoided.
  • 6.  - 4th element in lesson planning is to evaluate what has been done in terms of the objectives or aims established. - The plan should provide for proper evaluation of success in the realization of the aims and objectives. - The instructional plan should indicate clearly what is to be evaluated at the end of the unit. - Evaluation should include all factors in the teaching-learning program, the teaching methods and techniques, the use of school equipment and other important learning factors.
  • 7.  - 5th major element in planning has to do with the revision of plan. - The teacher is evaluating the day by day growth of her pupils, she will also be able to revise her plan constantly to make learning more certain for each pupil. - The principle of flexibility is therefore essential in the instructional planning.
  • 8.  - Last major element in instructional planning is giving the assignment. - The fundamental aim of the assignment is to give the pupils definite work to do and to guide and stimulate them to the performance of such work which will result in educative experience. - The assignment period should be devoted partly to motivation. - Study is most effective when highly motivated or when there is a purpose to achieve.
  • 9.  Is often used in Integration method and Unit method of teaching in elementary grades. Is a fulfillment of the democratic right of pupils to participate in making decisions that affect them. Is an educational process.
  • 10.  There are a number of planning activities and techniques that may be used in the process of teacher-pupil planning. The next activity is a matter of choosing the specific activities that the pupils will perform After choosing the specific activities the group organize itself to the work or project. Planning for evaluation of the work that has been done.
