• Diabetes Genomics Advise is an iPad app that gives users new tools for
assessing risk of co-morbidities using existing genetic information and
helps doctors view genetic information of patient via EMR.
 Healthcare/Business problem addressed:
• Chronic diseases constitute a major cause of mortality. Genomics
advisor helps users assess risk of chronic diseases using genetic
information.
 The application developed addresses the following
category:
 Applications that improve management of high cost chronic diseases.

 Genomics Advisor is designed to meet the requirement of
both doctors and normal users who want to know more
about the personal genetic information.
 Doctors should use Genomics Advisor in Doctor Mode:
Login with EMR and view the information of patients.
 Normal users should use Genomics Advisor in Self Mode:
Login with 23andMe and view genetic information.

We will leverage existing academic hospital affiliations. In coordination
with Allscripts, we will find partners in hospitals and local physician
partner offices. There are approximately 180,000 existing patients
with the genetic data ready. New patients cost only $99 for genetics
information. The price point is TBD.

 This is the first app that integrates EMR clinical and patient-
based genetic information to provide management information
for chronic diseases and co-morbidities- in this case focusing on
diabetes and co-morbidities. The unique combination and visual
interface make this app unique.
