significant proportion of agri-culture soil within three
representative biomasses: cerrado, semi-arid and atlantic forest
Massive technical and scientific skills and research centers:
11 Federal universities, 2 State universities and several renowned
research institutions such as; EMBRAPA, EPAMIG, CETEC
Strategic geographical position as a near future innovation center
and knowledge, technology and information diffusion towards the
Southeast Brazil

Traditional industrial park under stable entrepreneurial
structure and expanding steadily in the production of ethanol,
paper and wood-pulp and steels.
High potential for production of vegetable oils and biodiesel
production, involving family holders in sustainable development

solid and gas waste (charcoal, sugar cane bagasse, blast furnace
gases, urban and rural waste)
