  • 3. A joint pilot project in Veneto Region (Italy)
    • The Veneto Region and Cisco Systems Italia recently signed a co-operation agreement to set up a Regional Academy in Veneto (see Resolution 918 dated 21 March 2000 by the Regional Council and IT Dept. Chief Official's Decision n. 9 dated 4 May 2000).
    Cooperation agreement
  • 4. A joint pilot project in Veneto Region (Italy)
    • Many are the benefits that derive from the project which represents a unique opportunity for both public and private organisations active in the field of education and youth work training.
    Benefits
  • 5. A joint pilot project in Veneto Region (Italy)
    • Benefits can be summarized up as follows:
    • upgrading of teachers' educational skills,
    • improvement in the quality of courses,
    • new job opportunities,
    • medium and long term advantages for businesses as - in a reasonably short period of time - they will be able to rely on a properly trained workforce with high-level networking management skills.
    Benefits explanation
  • 6. A joint pilot project in Veneto Region (Italy)
    • The project involves the establishment of a Regional Networking Academy based at Regione del Veneto and the creation of between 5 to 10 Local Academies located in Veneto that offer free training courses.
    Involved Organizations
  • 7. A joint pilot project in Veneto Region (Italy)
    • The course is made up of four 6-month terms, for a total 280 hours of teaching. It ranges from theory to practice and, on completion, it enables students to design, set up and maintain complex networks like those serving national and world-wide organisations
    Scheduling
  • 8. A joint pilot project in Veneto Region (Italy)
    • The Networking Academy pilot project applies to non-profit-making educational organisations, be they universities, high-schools, colleges or vocational training institutions.
    Type of organisations
  • 9. A joint pilot project in Veneto Region (Italy)
    • At the end of the two-year course, 16 years plus students sit the Cisco Certified Networking Associate exam. The diploma will open up very good opportunities to students in a market literally "thirsty" of IT experts. For those young people wishing to continue their education at university, at an Engineering or IT faculty, the course will surely constitute very solid foundations on which to build on.
    CCNA

  • 11. A joint pilot project in Veneto Region (Italy)

    The opportunity
  • 12. A joint pilot project in Veneto Region (Italy)
    • testing the role of public administration in developing ICT skills creating professional skills in networking
    • providing an innovative educational paradigm leading to an internationally recognised certificate (CCNA certification);
    • implementing the Veneto Region eGovernment strategy;
    • strengthening co-operation between the academic and the business world with immediate feed-back from the courses
    Aims of the experiment
