  • 4. iPad Tips • Mute – depress “volume down” button • Soft Reset – If system freezes, hold “sleep/wake and “home button a few seconds. • Force quit app – hold down sleep button until “slide to power off” is shown and then hold down home button for approximately 5 seconds
  • 5. Creating Screen Shots • Bring up screen the shot is to be taken from • Click and hold home button while clicking and releasing on/off sleep/wake button • Your image should be save to photos

  • 7. Notification Center Swipe down from top of screen to view Notification Center.
  • 8. Control Center in iOS7 Control Center lets you toggle functions from the home screen. Including WiFi, Bluetooth and screen brightness. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open Control Center You do not have to unlock screen to adjust some of these settings.
  • 9. Side Switch Settings > General > Side Switch > Select Lock Rotation or Mute
  • 10. Mute O Mute – alerts, notifications, sound effects, game audio O Not muted – media playback (music, podcast, movies, videos, TV shows)
  • 11. Feature Airplane mode disables wireless features to comply with airline regulations
  • 12. Bluetooth Settings > Bluetooth > Turn on Bluetooth Tap the bluetooth device from the list then follow on screen instructions to connect.
  • 13. Do not Disturb Do not disturb keeps calls, alerts and other notifications from making sounds or lighting up when locked
  • 14. General O Adjust timing – settings > general > auto lock O Passcode – settings > general > passcode lock O Name iPad – settings > general > about > name

  • 16. Wallpapers & Brightness O Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness O Choose from Apple designed images or your own photos O Select image and use it for home screen, lock screen or both
  • 17. Privacy O Location Services O Allow location based apps such as maps, GPS, networks etc. to determine your approximate location.
  • 18. iCloud – Find my iPad Sign in to icloud.com/#find with your Apple ID Green dot - online Gray dot – offline Select “notify me when found” to get email when it comes online.
  • 19. Mail, Contact, Calendars O Set up Calendar O Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account
  • 20. Safari O Switch search engines – settings > safari > search engine > select search engine O Save images in Safari or mail – press and hold image for a few seconds, select save image O Full screen web videos – slide 2 fingers over video in opposite directions. Slide them back in same direction over video to return to browsing. O Select paragraph of text – select and hold
  • 21. Share webpage Bookmarks Reading List Share URL of current webpage. Add web site to home screen. Share by Mail, Message, Twitter, Facebook or AirDrop. Open AirDrop from Control Center.
  • 22. Saving Images from Browser • Touch and hold for approximately 2 seconds the image to be saved • Select Save from the menu that appears. • The image saved in Photos.
