  • 1. Zotero [zoh-TAIR-oh] is a free, easy-to-use Firefox extension to help you collect, manage, and cite your research sources.
  • 2. Firefox Extension
    • Zotero works only with the Firefox web browser
    • To get Firefox go to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
    • Click the free download link and Firefox will set itself up on your computer.

  • 4. Open Firefox from the link on your desktop Use Firefox to navigate to the Zotero page.    Download Zotero extension for Firefox

  • 6. Review the excellent "howto" video clips on the Zotero website.  http://www.zotero.org/support/screencast_tutorials

Once you restart Firefox, Zotero will be set up and ready to start using.  When you have a page open that you want to save click on the Zotero link in the bottom right corner of the Firefox browser For example open this page    http://www.uic.edu/htbin/cgiwrap/bin/ojs/index.php/fm/article/view/2252/2093

  • 9.        Right click on your item and Zotero will create a bibliographic entry using your preferred format. eg APA     Leinonen, T., & Suoranta, J. (2009).
