3. You know, human beings attention span are pretty short, especially when it comes to study, we use a lot of brain power. And without proper resting, you are overheating your brain power which leads to fatigues.
4. Just imagine yourself in the gym working out, maybe you are lifting weight? But you can only do a very limited set at a time, or else you will be hurting your muscles, this goes for the brain as well
5. After around 50 minutes, your brain will need a five minutes rest so that it could have some time to relax. This is also the reason why classes are set at a 50 minutes interval, to allow students to take a break.
6. During this five minutes resting, I highly recommend you to get up, and drink some water if you like. This will get your heart pumping again and give you more energy.
7. In the past, I tried to study for 2 hours straight, what happens is that my eyes get really tired, my brain is getting foggy and my shoulders are all tensed up. And I was getting really drowsy at the same time.
8. But then when I used the 5 minutes strategy on my study, I find myself with a better focus and mental clarity, which is exactly what a students needs.
9. So study hard doesn’t means you need to go on 3 hours straight, although sometimes when you are in the “zone”, times flies. But still, when you know you are in a drowsy/fatigue state, get some rest, drink some water or even stretch your muscles a bit, cuz you need it. Note: Don’t do stuff that will get you distracted for a really long period of time.
