Among all seeds the mustard seed is the smallest. You can hardly see it with your eyes.But when it grows it becomes a large tree where even birds can take a rest.
Parents paid for music lessons, bought us expensive instruments
Even though our music was weak, we started to accompany the sws
Msn. Gloria came from KoreaReal mustard seed ministry startedPractice our instruments and improve our music skills
not simple but hard music piecesWe practiced hardSometimes till late night
Gradually we became better until we played orchestra pieces with our mini orchestra
The mustard seeds formed a mini orchestra
Challenge music by practicing difficult pieces by faith in GodFaith that nothing is impossible for him who believesUntil we became like pros
Behind the ministryThere was the spirit and philosophy of great men of GodDr. Lee and Dr. Chang saw that 2nd gens did not have a responsible position in the ministryShepherd heartThey believed that through divine dicipline the 2nd gens could grow as co-workers in the ministry
What is divine dicipline?Deny yourself lazy, pleasure-seeking mentality…Practice hard until you become a proGlorify God with your music
Chicago UBF Orchestra our exampleWe looked up to them, they all looked so smart and greatWe wanted to become like them and dreamt of playing Beethoven No 5 once in our life
We started to have our own mustard seed concerts. For the concerts we practiced hard for more than 7 hours per day in the center
Played music wherever we were, even outside in the forest
First international mustard seed concert took place in Korea in 2002Actually, in a university dining hall
Next concert happened to be in a real concert hallAll the soloist wore fancy dresses and tuxedos
How could the mustard seed grow so much?Only by the support of the parents and co-workersThey provided the money for the mission journeys and concerts
They cheered for us as our audienceAnd encouraged us with their prayer and faith
They prepared the environment for us
Especially Msn. Peter always provided the stage for usSo we could train ourselves to stand in front of people and gain confidence and glorify God with our music
Happy Maria is well-known among usMsn. Peter let her sing at every occationSws, conferences, weddings,…Until she could become one of the best voice students at the Cologne music school
In times of trials, misunderstandings M. Peter encouraged 2nd gens with 1 Peter 2:9We memorized this verse at every practice more than 20 timesIn this way, we could find our identity as God‘s chosen royal priesthoodWe realized that God had chosen us to be 2nd generation missionaries and made a decision of faith to co-work with our parentsWe played special music, sang special songs for sws, at conferences, prepared dances etc.
Our identity helped us to overcome the pressure of the sinful generationStudy hard ins school
Some became even valedictoriansAnd all mustard seeds became university students
Through the good influence, young people from Korea made a decision to come to Germany and to get to know Jesus and start a new lifeThey joined the mustard seed community
Also missionaries and shepherds decided to learn an instrument prepare the environment and co-work for the mustard seed ministry
