  • There are always challenges ahead in education….
  • The plan for this session is quite simple. Although before we move forward, we should warm up the explorer part of our brains
  • Mission:Explore is the creation of the Geography Collective Collective – simple missions that are a little bit naughty. Also an App on a ceratian fruit based device and a web site
  • Website and App after the book after winning an Ordnance Survey GeoVation Award – 1000 missions in London and plans to expand (in fact we are always looking for partners and writers). I risk Assessed about half the parks and gardens in central London, on foot, over two days…
  • Outdoor Learning isn’t about scaring the life out of people! It can be, but technology can make it more creative, for example.. Not quite this extreme, but the idea of Mission:Explore and Mission:Based Learning is that the everyday, ordinary objects of life can become a learning adventure.
  • For example, most young people have a way of listening to music on a fieldtrip – what music would match this music? Why. Manics – A Design for Life -
  • What music would match this image. Choose something from your portable music device now – listen to it if you have headphones. Share your choice with the person next to you. Why does that match the mood here?
  • I could talk at length about the benefits of Mission Explore to young people, school and learning and how technology can help to document learning, however, I’d rather get out to do some!Doreen Massey – Geographer.Now we have our explorer brains warmed up – it’s time to do some.!
