A Butterfly’s LessonOne day, a small openingappeared in a cocoon; a mansat and watched for thebutterfly for several hours asit struggled to force its bodythrough that little hole.
A Butterfly’s LessonIt appeared as if it hadgotten as far as it could andit could not go any further. Then, it seems to stopmaking any progress.
A Butterfly’s LessonSo the man decided to helpthe butterfly: he took a pairof scissors and opened thecocoon. The butterfly thenemerged easily.
A Butterfly’s LessonBut it had a withered body, itwas tiny and shriveled wings.
A Butterfly’s LessonThe man continued to watchbecause he expected that, atany moment, the wingswould open, enlarge andexpand, to be able to supportthe butterfly’s body, andbecome firm.
A Butterfly’s LessonNeither happened! In fact, thebutterfly spent the rest of itslife crawling around with awithered body and shriveledwings. It never was able to fly.
A Butterfly’s LessonWhat the man, in hiskindness and his goodwill didnot understand was that therestricting cocoon and thestruggle required for thebutterfly to get through thetiny opening, were God’s wayof forcing fluid from thebody of the butterfly into itswings, so that it would beready for flight once itachieved its freedom fromthe cocoon.
A Butterfly’s LessonSometimes, struggles areexactly what we need in ourlife. If God allowed us to gothrough our life without anyobstacles, it would crippleus. We would not be asstrong as we could havebeen. Never been able to fly.
A Butterfly’s LessonI asked for Strength... and Godgave me difficulties to makeme strong.I asked for Wisdom... and Godgave me problems to solve.I asked for prosperity...and Godgave me a brain and brawn towork.I asked for Courage…and Godgave me obstacles to overcome.I asked for Love...and God gaveme troubled people to help.
A Butterfly’s LessonI asked for Favours...and Godgave me Opportunities."I received nothing I wanted..... but I received everythingI needed.“ "Live life without fear, confront all obstacles andknow that you can overcome them."
