  • 1. Honey Sweet viscous fluid is made by bees from thenectar of flowers. This is natural sweetener.The base of honey and its sweetness is madefrom glucose and fructose. Million years ago people used to eateverything they had hunted, captured andfound. When people discovered wild bees,they thought, that becoming friends withthese creatures would be very useful.

  • 3. Types of honey Taste, colour and smell of honey is different depending on flowers, from which is collected nectar. There are different types of honey. The nectar of some plants can be toxic to people, although it is untoxic to bees.
  • 4. Acacia honey– the brightest, almost whitehoney with a slight tinge of green creamy. Stone honey- wild bees’ “gift”, which is foundin the caves. Raspberry honey– a pale yellow honey withgreen tinge or even transparent like water,which crystallizes – white with cream shade.
  • 5. Melilotus honey– while fresh it iswhite to pale yellow, when crystallizes it iswhite like salted fat. Clover honey– pale yellow, almostwhite honey with pleasant taste. Sainfoin honey– white, sometimeswith a green tinge, refined and brighthoney. It has got pleasant taste.
  • 6. Bluebell honey– its paleyellow colour remindshomemade butter. It is equalto the honey of July, it haspleasant taste. Bluckwheat honey – it isdistinguished by its colourpallet from dark yellow tobrownish or reddish tinge todark brown or even black. Coriander honey– it isdistinguished by dark colour,specific characteristic aromaand taste.

Maple honey– there are two types ofit: liquid and white which crystallizes- afterone or two months it becomes somewhattransparent red-yellow. Field plants honey– its main color isyellow, sometimes it may be dark brown.
  • 8. History of honey The first insects emerged on earth about 1000 millionyears ago. Bees appeared about 35 million years ago. Beeshave got one feature. The more people or animal defendthemselves, the more bees attack them. That’s why ifpeople or animal want to take honey, they have to kill allbees. The real bee-keeping started when people noticedthat bees are afraid of smoke. Smoke calms bees anger,they avoid it.
