  • 11. More on Muscles ➢Strong muscles support your bones and make your joints stronger ➢Muscle strength is built by pushing or pulling against a force (i.e., pull ups)

  • 13. Why Be Flexible? ➢Muscles, tendons and ligaments around joints need to be loose so they can move easily ➢Being flexible helps prevent injuries You can build flexibility by stretching your muscles and joints (i.e., yoga, swimming, karate, gymnastics)
  • 14. 4. Body Composition The muscle, fat, bone and fluid that makes up your body weight
  • 15. So What About Body Composition? ➢A healthy body has more bone, muscle and fluid than fat ➢Body composition is a direct result of how you eat, how much you exercise and the genes you inherit from your parents
