Philosophy for my classroom
Gabriela Del Valle
Philosophy Statement

 Create an atmosphere were all children can feel
safe and comfortable. To have a judgment free
zone, so children can express themselves freely. To
maximize their learning experience and cater to the
interests and needs of my students.
How I will achieve this

 Inviting environment

 Encourage socialization

 Observe what the children are interested in

 Changing lessons

 Forming relationships
Inviting environment

 Children’s artwork displayed
   in the class.

 Areas with couches and
   comfortable seating for
   children to relax.

 Let them bring in objects
   from home such as pictures
   or stuffed animals.
Encourage socialization

 Group activities

 Peer teaching

 Cooperative play

 Partner work
Observing Interest

 Watching what the children
   play with

 Listen to their conversations

 Build on questions they have

 Listing to what they request
Changing lesson plans

 If children are interested in a
topic, stay on it, instead of
        moving on.

     If children need more
help, give it to them by
        expanding the lesson
Forming Relationships

 Bonding with students and
   their families

 Having conversations with
   them

 Building trust

 Encouraging friendship in
   the classroom
How will I know it worked?

 If my students are excited to come to school

 If they share personal stories with me

 If I see socialization among them

 If they express their interests freely

 If they are understanding the material being taught
Why is teaching important?

 Children need to feel comfortable in the school
setting. They spend a good majority of their time
there. If they do not enjoy it and gain something
from it, they will eventually dread going. I want to
make sure that doesn’t happen. This is why I think
my philosophy will be an effective one.
