    5. 4 How we make a difference 1. Make “Business Impact” the intervention goal to be achieved rather than only competency building 2. Integrating ‘Learning’ with ‘work’ and not in the classroom alone • Use a mix of Tools : Workshops/ Projects/ Presentations/ Coaching and Mentoring/ Observations/ Job Aids/ Feedback 3. As the business impact will be central to any intervention, business parameters will be used to evaluate the impact • Pre and post intervention scores of business parameters such as Productivity, Customer Satisfaction, Attrition etc. 4. Vyaktitva – Instructional design Model & Strategies • All workshops and training programs are based on the principles and tools of instructional design and are customized to the specific needs of the organization, after complete analysis. 5 © Vyaktitva India. 8. Detailed Overview Analysis • The analysis phase serves a major role in addressing or ruling out the real training needs Who guides our analysis • During the analysis phase, a Vyaktitva consultant may speak with many people to learn about the project and its overall goals. People who help us excavate the needs are: Project sponsors (executives or senior leadership) who can discuss the business goals and objectives Subject matter experts—who can describe undocumented knowledge related to the process Representative members of the target audience—who can demonstrate their current skills and behaviors and the hurdles faced 8 © Vyaktitva India. All rights reserved.
    9. Detailed Overview Questions that drive analysis • When we start a project with a training needs analysis, we collect critical information about business needs, learners' capabilities, and course content. Our consultants primarily focus on the business need of the project, the goals, the objectives, the parameters of evaluation, the intended audience, etc..’ Methodology of analysis • The methodologies adopted by us is on the nature and kind of project. A few of them would be ; One on One Focus group discussions Understanding the competency framework Behavioral competencies Functional competencies Understanding the Leadership Frameworks Other performance parameters Methods of evaluation 9 © Vyaktitva India. All rights reserved.
    10. Detailed Overview Design • Our prime focus during this phase is the content which facilitates the flow of information in the most comprehensive fashion. During the content design phase, we review the course's learning objectives and considering the following questions: How should content be organized? How should ideas be presented to learners? What delivery format should be used? What types of activities and exercises will best help learners? How should the course measure learners' accomplishments? The answers to these questions help our consultants produce the instructional design document. This document describes the course structure and its instructional strategies. The primary focus during this phase is the content customization according to the target audience and the training needs, meeting the macro objectives of the intervention and also evaluation parameters. 10 © Vyaktitva India. 11. Detailed Overview Development • The development phase draws upon the information collected in the analysis phase and the decisions made in the design phase. This step acts as a key to a successful intervention i.e creation of the course materials, what separates a great course that fulfils its objectives from a weak course that misses its mark The three major phases in this step are ; Creation of a prototype Develop course material Conduct a review Some important tools used by us for content development are simulation, real plays, case lets, role plays etc. depending on the design objective, which gives the participants the most effective learning experience strongly inspired by real world and day to day functional instances 11 © Vyaktitva India. All rights reserved.
    12. Detailed Overview Implementation • The implementation phase primarily deals with the roll outs of the intervention. This includes procedures like facilitation, imparting projects or cases, review of projects , course correction and final review. It helps establish the timelines for the course rollout, Schedule the courses, enroll learners, and reserve on-site and off-site classrooms, Notify learners and their supervisors about the course, Select trainers and prepare them with a custom train-the-trainer, Arrange for delivery of course material, a few basic but important needs which leads to an successful intervention 12 © Vyaktitva India. 13. Detailed Overview Evaluation • At Vyaktitva we believe in the concept that good training programs require planning, review, and revision. Each of the five ADDIE phases provide review checkpoints that allow the us and the client to evaluate the work that has been produced so far. The evaluation phase measures the course's efficacy and locates opportunities to improve learners' on-the-job performance Usually a pre and post feedback can measure how well learners achieved the learning objectives, however, it takes more time and effort to measure changes in workplace behaviors and improvement towards business goals. In most cases the measures adopted by us to evaluate the impact are: Feedback Mid and post course feedback Level wise evaluation Also our evaluation parameters are primarily guided by the company’s bussiness metrics as discussed in Analysis which in turn help us find out the final business impact. 13 © Vyaktitva India. 22. 9 Our Consultants Vyaktitva consultants typically have between 8 to 25 years of work experience across industries, geographies. Some key profiles: R. Venkatesh Iyer (Venki) Partner at Vyaktitva, graduated from IIM Ahmedabad in 1982 and joined NIIT. He was a core member of the initial team that established the company and made it a force to reckon with. Venki's association with NIIT continued till 2005 by which time he had accumulated many feathers in his cap. He was instrumental in setting up the distribution/franchising channel for NIIT and headed it for many years. During the 23 years at NIIT, Venki has always been regarded as someone who can deliver whatever may be the odds. This reputation led to Venki being asked to handle the toughest of assignments year after year. Some of them were Global Head of Education, Regional Head of Software Services, Global Head of Human Resources, Head of NIIT Ventures, President and COO of NIIT Smart Serve, the BPO subsidiary of NIIT. Gagan Adlakha Partner at Vyaktitva, a product of XLRI 1990, Gagan joined NIIT right after campus and believe it or not, in these job hopping times, thrived there for 14 long years. Though to be honest he did his share of job hopping within NIIT - getting to experience not only all facets of HR but also taking on business responsibilities. Unlike so many of us who get stuck into our comfort zones, he moved his cheese and opted for a regional business head role for NIIT Planetworkz focusing on providing the BPO industry with recruitment and training solutions. As an associate with Vyaktitva, his diverse experience enables him to bring to any assignment a penchant for making HR more business and bottom line oriented. Having focused on processes, Gagan doesn’t believe in one-time interventions but rather in enshrining learning's for long-term business impact. 22 © Vyaktitva India. All rights reserved.

He left the Army in 2003 and it was his passion for training and organizational development that saw him join NIS Sparta and thereafter Vyaktitva. He has been with Vyaktitva since 2005 and in a short span of time has worked on numerous OD and Training & Development assignments, spanning diverse sectors like Manufacturing, Telecom, FMCG, BPO’s, Hospitality and IT etc. Lakshmi Krishnan Lakshmi is a training and Instructional Design professional with 18+ yrs of experience.
