Words from the President The increasing wages in China as well as the business conscience to analyze other components of the logistical cost from a global perspective (Total Landed Cost) are working in favor of the return of activities such as Research and Development (R&D) as well as manufacturing and logistics to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) region. At the same time, the recent disruptions in global supply chains as in the electronics and automotive sectors, mainly due to natural disasters and strikes, have made the companies think about the long-term implications keeping key operations overseas represents. It is in this context that the Mexican Logistics and Supply Chain Association, A.C. (AML) aims to become the world-class knowledge and technology platform in logistics that Mexico and Latin American region requires to improve its competitiveness in the productive sector. This is why you are welcome tojoin the endeavor the AML is developing through its various activities. Starting point In 2010, the National Council of Science & Technology (CONACYT) launched the national program to create the “National Virtual Labs” of Research, Innovation and Technology in key sectors.  30 Mexican and 15 foreign experts answered the call. Academics, industrials and high officials, they are all counting with the highest technical profile in transportation, logistics and supply chain.  The importance of logistics and supply chain to the regional competitiveness (Mexico and Lat Am) motivated the group of experts to launch the initiative under a non-profit civil organization scheme. On September the 14th, 2012, the Mexican Logistics and Supply Chain Association, A.C. (AML) is launched. http://mexico-logistico.org
