Preparation
Have fun!

Preparation
Know what you're going to talk about in advance
Brief guests and do your research
Chat about the topics before you hit the record button
Keep notes and printouts with you
Don't fill space for the sake of it
BUT tangents are good if they sound natural
Remember, you can edit later

Speaking tips
Practice
Get comfortable with the microphone
Get comfortable asking questions
Get comfortable answering questions
Have facts, figures and research to hand
Pick people you're comfortable speaking with at first

Editing: Keep it tight
Take out anything you're not happy with
Tighten: remove ums and ers and waffle
Keep it sounding natural
Boost levels (if possible)
Top and tail
Keep your pod as short as possible

Editing software
Decent computer
Online storage space for MP3s
Pro recording equipment (studio / digital recorder)
For calls: ISDN, phone, Skype
Having guests present sounds best
