      • Technology is like water, it is a life source. It is a known factor that technology has invaded our homes, workplace, church and the wider community on a global market.
      • For the purpose of this paper Media exposure will be:
      • Television
      • Internet, and
      • Mobile phone
      • We will demonstrate how a family can be in crisis with the inclusion of these amenities.
      • Kovach (2007) states that every day, we’re swimming in a sea of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) produced by electrical appliances, power lines, wiring in buildings, and a slew of other technologies that are part of modern life.
    • Dangers of Cell Phones
      • Rutgers University (2009) states that cell phones are a danger on the road in more ways than one. The studies found the cell phone-fatality correlation to be true even when weighing in factors such as speed, alcohol consumption, and seat belt use.
    • The National Cancer Institute Views
      • The National Cancer Institute (2011) states that cell phones are health hazardous because:
      • Cell phones emit radiofrequency energy (radio waves), a form of non-ionizing radiation. Tissues nearest to where the phone is held can absorb this energy.

      • The number of cell phone calls per day; the length of each call, and the amount of time people use cell phones have increased. Cell phone technology has also undergone substantial changes.
    • Effects of Cell phone
      • According to Dr. Kim (2011) regular exposure to radio frequency radiation may interfere with the electrical fields of our cells. Common health challenges that have been linked to regular exposure to radio frequency radiation include:
      • Abnormal cell growth and damage to cellular DNA
    • Effects of Cell phone continuation
      • Difficulty sleeping, depression, anxiety, and irritability
      • Childhood and adult leukemia
      • Eye cancer
      • Immune system suppression
      • Attention span deficit and memory loss
      • Infertility

      • A vast computer network linking smaller computer networks worldwide. The Internet includes commercial, educational, governmental, and other networks, all of which use the same set of communications protocols.

    • THE UGLY
      • Internet Addiction (IAD) - Dr. Goldberg said IAD is not a recognized medical addiction like alcoholism, but "more like an out-of-control behavior that threatens to overwhelm the addict's normal life."

    • TELEVISION CAN BE AN UNWANTED DISTRACTION POSITIVE FAMILY TIME HEALTH GAURDING THE AVENUES OF THE MIND
    • Overview
      • Most children become addicted to television
      • before they enter school.
      • Two-thirds of them watch 2hours of TV, or video a day.
      • American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommend no TV under the age of 2, because it can interfere with their physical and social development.
      • 8-18 year old's spend nearly 4 hours per day
    • OBESITY
      • Children who watch more than 4 hours each day are more likely to be overweight because of lack of exercise and snacking while watching TV.

      • The easiest way to reduce inactivity is to turn off the TV set. Almost anything else uses more energy than watching TV." William H. Deitz, pediatrician and prominent obesity expert at Tufts University School of Medicine.

      • Many television characters depict risky behaviors , such as smoking, drinking, violence sexual abuse and drugs especially music videos that many parent might assume to be acceptable.

      • Parents need to monitor their children while they watch television.
