About: Office of Web Communications <ul><li>Formed in late November 2006 </li></ul><ul><li>One director: Graham Garner </li></ul><ul><li>One full-time senior web developer: Laird Duncan </li></ul><ul><li>Three student positions (two filled) </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Joe Marley </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Derek Aitken </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Maintain home page and second-level pages </li></ul><ul><li>Create special sites, such as Rendezvous Complex and Presidential Inauguration </li></ul><ul><li>Establish maintenance agreements </li></ul>

Purpose and Goals <ul><li>Create consistent design and function of ISU’s web presence </li></ul><ul><li>Reinforce branding image of the University </li></ul><ul><li>Maintain best practices at both front and back ends of the site (design view vs. coding) </li></ul><ul><li>Keep dated materials up-to-date </li></ul><ul><li>Eliminate broken links and “Under Construction” pages </li></ul><ul><li>Enforce World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and ADA standards for usability </li></ul>
