  • 6. The Galilee School • Students come from the local Jewish and Arab municipalities, whose residents have rallied their support for bilingual, multicultural education. 6

Fertile ground • The Galilee provides a fitting backdrop for Hand in Hand’s work of promoting mutual understanding through education. • Israel's northern district is 52% Arab and 44% Jewish. • The Galilee is one of the few areas in Israel where the Jewish population lives side by side with Arab communities—and is fertile ground for cooperation and understanding. 7
