    If you are looking for ways to motivate students, to develop higher-level thinking skills, to promote cooperative learning, and to provide authentic reasons for research, you will want to add webquests to your teacher toolkit.

    2. What is a WebQuest*?
      • An inquiry-oriented activity in which most or all of the information used by learners is drawn from the Web
      • WebQuests are designed to use learners’ time well, to focus on using information rather than looking for it, and to support learners’ thinking at the levels of analysis, synthesis, and evaluation

      • Be standards-based
      • Enhance an existing lesson or address a curriculum gap
      • Provide links to well-chosen Internet sites
      • Require a degree of understanding that goes beyond simple comprehension or retelling
