Responsibilities 
• Of the consortium leader organisation (UM) 
– To provide appropriate support for financial and administrative coordination 
– To provide regular information to consortium partners 
– To provide scientific senior advisory role 
– To work in cooperation with co-lead organisation on reporting tasks

  • 10. 10 Responsibilities • Of the consortium leader organisation (UM) – To provide appropriate support for financial and administrative coordination – To provide regular information to consortium partners – To provide scientific senior advisory role – To work in cooperation with co-lead organisation on reporting tasks • Of the co-lead organisation (RAND Europe) – To ensure management of the project and general direction – To ensure coordination between partners and tasks – Provide scientific direction • Of consortium partners – Work package leads to manage the partner that they are involved with in the delivery of the task – Consortium partners to deliver on time – Consortium partners to provide feedback on documents issued by others – Consortium partners to decide consensually about direction of the project – It is the responsibility of each partner and WP leads to manage tasks within their own team • Delivery failure implies that – Consortium leads will retain a penalty because they have to complete these materials – A second instalment cannot be provided to the consortium!
  • 11. 11 Key questions Regarding innovation in teaching and learning • How ‘innovative’ are the teaching and learning practices reported? • Are there examples of ‘best practices’ which would be worth singling out? Regarding institutional changes • Which are the institutional structures and mechanisms that seem to enable teaching and learning innovations ? • What have been the common dynamics across Europe? Going forward • Could we use the survey results as a self-assessment toolkit? • Would suitable recommendations emerge?

  1. On point 2, questions which may be useful: could include for example whether there is a dedicated office for teaching and learning? (eg Salamanca has an Office for Innovation and digital production). Is there a university-wide strategy? Is there a collaborative decision-making body where decisions regarding innovation are in place? Is there a dedicated Senior leader in charge of innovation? Is the strategy communicated clearly to academics, researchers and administrators? Are there incentives in place to stimulate innovation? Are any mechanisms in place to evaluate these innovations? Do academics, researchers and administrators think that sufficient resources are allocated to innovation?
