  • 1. Influence of the L1 in the acquisition of an L2 (Reflection)Gabriela Quezada CabezasAs futures teachers to be, it is important that we have in mind some strength andweaknesses about the influence of the L1 at the moment of teaching a second orforeign language; moreover, this will help us to develop some strategies inside theclassroom in order to improve the process of acquiring a second language. One of themost important strategies that we as futures language teacher to be need to beaware of is about students’ needs in the classroom, the present that students areliving, rather than in the students’ needs in the future. Another important strategy tohave in mind is about the type of input that we give to our students because if we asteachers give them an input that is below their level, they will have nothing new toacquire. We need to challenge them in order to have an improvement of theacquisition of the second language. These strategies will help us to succeed inteaching English Language inside the classrooms and improve the currently situationof the lack of knowledge in the schools nowadays.
