  • 1. AnInconvenientTruth In the film “An inconvenient truth” we can realize not only, the horrible changesthat the earth has been suffering through the years because of the global warming andthe effects of it in different aspects of our daily life, but also we can realize the futuresconsequences that this phenomenon is going to produce in the world if we do not start toact in this moment. During the documentary film, Al gore explains what the phenomenon of globalwarming is and why this occurs. He also talks about the changes that the world is alreadysuffering; some of them are: the increasing temperatures in the Earth and in the oceans, the relocation of precipitations that produce floods in some parts of the world, meanwhileother parts are suffering droughts; moreover the fact that the Arctic’s caps are meltingand due to this the polar bearsare disappearing because they are not accustomed to swimlong distances until they find a strong cap of ice. So the question now is: Do you think that all of these facts are something naturalor that we are completely guilty of these? From my point of view, and what is more, fromthe point of view of the experts and most people the answer is absolutely clear: We arethe culprits of these negative changes and that is not the worst part, what is even worse isthat we are entirely aware of the critical situation in which we are living nowadays, but weare not capable of do something to stop it or to reverse the situation even when the“solutions” are so simple as turn off the lights that we are not using, unplug the electronicdevices that are not being used, plant more trees either in our backyards or parks, toavoid the burning of coal, between a lot of other options. Is important that we learn how to take care of the world in which we are living, because it is our home, is the place that gives us all the things that we need, and if there isno earth, there is not going to be life either. We can change the situation if we really wantto do that. So what are you going to do now? The decision is in our hands. By Gabriela Quezada Cabezas
