  4. 4.  Used to recover glucose from cellulose, involves treating a finely divided suspension of cellulose-containing waste with a weak acid  acid (C6H10O5)n + H2O n C6H12O6 cellulose glucoseSugar and glucose extracted from the cellulose can be converted by other chemical process into alcohols and other chemicals.
