  • 1. Concept  design:  an  applica4on  for  mobility   Fabio  Ma(a   fable safe  and  nice  routes  for  children  
  • 2. 01   Fabio  Ma(a   Concept   Fable  is  a  personal  naviga4on  system  with  a  nice  Computer  Graphics   creature  that  guides  children  on  the  safest  routes  of  the  urban  areas.   The  creature  is  a  sort  of  “talking  cricket”  that  alerts  the  child  if  she  is   on  the  wrong  route;  children  can  interact,  personalize  and  play  with   it.  There  is  a  database  of  “safe  routes  and  places”  for  children.  The   creature  acts  as  a  storyteller  but  it  stops  the  story  if  children  do  not   follow  the  right  routes.  Fable  is  a  way  to  educate  and  protect  children   when  they  are  alone  in  the  city  centred  on  an  applica4on  that  has  a   mix  of  naviga4onal  and  game  features.   fable

  • 5. 04   Fabio  Ma(a   Creature   "Creature"  is  the  character  at  the  center  of  Fable.   One  of  the  key  features  is  an  interac4ve  game.   Children  will  enjoy  a  sort  of  talking  cricket  (the  "grillo   parlante"  of  Carlo  Collodi  “Pinocchio”)  that  guides   and  alert  them  when  they  are  on  the  streets.   Creature  is  an  easy  character  and  children  can   interact  with  it.  A  liWle  digital  friend  that  needs  care   and  aWen4on  and  in  exchange  it  tells  children  stories   and  fables.  This  is  the  ludic  part  of  the  applica4on.   Creature  rebukes  children  if  they  go  the  wrong  way   and  warns  them  that  it  will  stop  telling  stories  it  if   they  keep  going  in  unsafe  direc4ons.         fable
  • 6. 05   Fabio  Ma(a   Personal  naviga4on  and  gameplay   Fable  is  a  mix  of  a  GPS  naviga4on  system  and  an  interac4ve  game.   Creature  is  able  to  generate  children’s  empathy  and  so  to  get  their  aWen4on.   Tamagotchi  and  Pet  Society  are  well  known  references  of  similar  applica4ons.       fable
