    • Crossing the line Fabio Mattia from homo sapiens to digital apes Media Design & Arti Multimediali Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali Life on Earth appears 4.750 millions years ago. Unicellular living forms. 1_ORIGIN OF LIFE 590-250 mya: Paleozoic Age. Diversification of vertebrates, invertebrates and sea & earth vegetables. 250-65 mya: Mesozoic Age. Diversification reptiles-mammals. Evolution and extinction of dinosaurs. 65-2,5 mya: Cenozoic Age. Maximum diffusion of mammals and proliferation of forests. First hominidae appears. 2,5 mya: Neolithic. Homo sapiens appears and evolution. Fabio Mattia Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 2_THE EVOLUTION OF HUMAN BEING YESTERDAY-TODAY– TOMORROW: (?) (?) hardware software Fabio Mattia Phonetic alphabet Chirography – printing with movable type Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 3_THE ELECTRIC MEDIA “ THE MEDIUM IS THE MESSAGE” (McLuhan) The medium modify the relations ME/OTHER(s) Electricity alters the sensorial reactions and perception Media are extensions of human senses Fabio Mattia Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media http://zonwu.blogspot.com/2009/05/vita-artificiale.html
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 4_THE ELECTRIC MEDIA MOLTIPLICATION OF “EGO” Human multiply its “oneself” across the digital media Fabio Mattia Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 5_THE ELECTRIC MEDIA Interaction with web and applications become continuous Constant presence inside the net Real-time contents fruition Relations with other connected people Multiple-account management Continuous connection with virtual places Fabio Mattia Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 6_THE ELECTRIC MEDIA Fabio Mattia GPS and parallelism reality-virtuality Interactions between users that are moving inside real world and virtual worlds Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 7_THE ELECTRIC MEDIA Fabio Mattia Tendency to bring back the control on own fragmented-oneself Recomposition of an unitary-ego EGO Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 8_A NEW PRIMORIAL SOUP Fabio Mattia Virtual worlds are the origin of a new evolutionary tendency Virtual worlds are consequence and cause of this new evolutionary tendency Requirements for new life form are forming Requirements for a new evolutionary step are forming Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media http://www.calresco.org/ sos/calressw.htm
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 9_BIOLOGIC BASIS OF HUMAN BEING Fabio Mattia The current human being preserve the biologic basis features from apes who it come from In social life, human tends to suppress its typical basis impulses Behavioural tendences in various life’s spheres remembers the typical primates behaviour Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 10_HUMAN BEING RECOVERS THE ORIGINAL FEATURES Fabio Mattia Inside the virtual worlds and digital applications, humans appear a return to their original behaviour. Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media http://www.flickr.com/ photos/dionc/5906790/
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 11_HUMAN BEING RECOVERS THE ORIGINAL FEATURES Fabio Mattia Various and continuous feeding. Various tastes seeking. Sense of sight is the principal sense: better color localization (food). Nomadic: continuous displacement across various places. Community life style. Tight-knit groups. Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 12_HUMAN BEING RECOVERS THE ORIGINAL FEATURES Fabio Mattia Short and direct courtship (frankness in chat conversations). Erogenous zones exposition (photographic avatars and image galleries). Pre-copula (initial dialogue and soft images) Copula (from pic-trading to dating –virtual sex sometimes begins a real meeting-). Age taboo annulment. SEXUALITY Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 13_INADEGUACY OF ACTUAL BIOLOGIC APPARATUS Fabio Mattia For present humans the fruiction of these new virtual worlds –to move the own digital alter-egos- is limited and difficult by actual cognitive and physical human features. The human-machine interaction has yet limits who don’t permit to humans a total immersion in a virtual world. The integration between man and technology is a process in progress. The evolution of the interaction modalities tendence to an absolute and definitive integration between humans and technologies. Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 14_EVOLUTIONARY QUESTION Fabio Mattia Is it this the human’s future? (?) Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media http://ajharmon.wordpress.com/2009/02/09/what-is-a-cyborg/
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 15_EVOLUTIONARY ANSWER Fabio Mattia Human being in front of the new virtual worlds is like a first life form of Paleozoic Age who is moving its first walkings outside the water. Its body is unsuitable, for now, to can live in this new world. Human being is emerging from the water of “reality” to forwards the lands of “virtuality”, but to do this it needs important modifications to its body. It needs a new evolutionary process. • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 16_EVOLUTIONARY ANSWER Fabio Mattia Must human evolving to live these new worlds? Does the human being need a new species evolution, or humans are to the terminus of their evolutionary age to be sobstitute by a new life form? A new species? Are there new life form’s signs? Are there examplary who appears as new digital hominidae? Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 17_FIRST NEW LIFE FORMS (?) Fabio Mattia Forms of Artificial Intelligence Artificial Bodies Artificial Life Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media http://www.iphoneland.it/ wp-content/uploads/eliza.png http://www.liamkemp.com
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 18_FIRST NEW LIFE FORMS (?) Fabio Mattia Forms of Artificial Intelligence Artificial Bodies ARTIFICIAL LIFE More human extensions inside virtual worlds. An attempt to build a “physique-oneself” adapt to live in the virtual world. Improvment of aesthetic standards of real world. Looking for a virtual partner who satisfy our needs. An attempt to emulation of human behaviour. Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media
New hardware and software technologies, new media, represents the human’s attempt to enter the virtual world. Manipulation of representation extends the want to manipulate the reality. Screen-reality overcome the “real-reality”. Virtual fascination is higher. Humans trying to elaborate interactive technologies that allow to enter in the virtuality. Touch technologies introduction to a first tactile interaction level. 19_FIRST NEW LIFE FORMS (?) Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media http://www.liamkemp.com
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 20_QUESTION Fabio Mattia Is human being moving its first steps to a new evolutionary way, or is human being meeting the firsts exponents of a new life form species? Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 21_A POSSIBLE TOMORROW (?) Fabio Mattia New life forms. Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media
    • Media Design & Arti Multimediali 22_A POSSIBLE TOMORROW Fabio Mattia Human being brings the fundamental habits and features originated from primates. The most natural and spontaneous behaviours are the most near to human being origins. • Media Design & Arti Multimediali Fabio Mattia In a far future, a kind of digital living form could find in its basilar behaviour some features of present human behaviour in its first walking in virtual worlds. Like the chimpanzee in nature, these digital living forms could find in themselfes the feautures of our first actions in virtual worlds. As the simple contemplation of a web page or a 3D image: a primordial digital view. 23_A POSSIBLE TOMORROW Research for the Course of Theory and Method of Mass Media
