Federal<br />Supportive Housing Program (SHP)<br />Pays for the development of supportive housing and services<br />States, units of local government, other governmental entities such as public housing agencies (PHAs), and private non-profits can get SHP<br />Helps homeless individuals and families<br />
  5. 5. Federal<br />Shelter Plus Care (S+C)<br />Pays for rental subsidies if support services are provided<br />States, local government units, and PHAs can apply for funding<br />Helps homeless people with a disability and their families<br />

  9. 9. Federal<br />HOME Investment Partnership Program<br />Largest Federal block grant to states and local governments <br />Creates affordable housing for low income people<br />Provides home purchase or rehab financing to eligible homeowners and new homebuyers<br />
  10. 10. Federal<br />Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8) provides:<br />tenant based subsidies <br />project based subsidies<br />Tenant pays 30% of the total rent <br />Income must be 50% or less of AMI<br />
  11. 11. Federal<br />Section 811 – Supportive Housing for People with Disabilities<br />Serves very low-income people (less than 30% AMI)<br />With at least one household member 18 years older with a disability<br />FY2009 $250m<br />
