Benchmark indices witnessed wild intraday gyrations with the NSE NiftyBSE Smallcap 7,041 7,122 (1.13) swinging almost 100 points while the BSE Sensex fluctuating nearly 300 points in intra-day. Although theNifty Junior 9,896 9,967 (0.71) fall wasnt nearly as bad as the one witnessed in the previous session, the undercurrent remained nervousCNX Midcap 7,186 7,233 (0.65) due to persistent worries over the glum global economic scenario. A G20 communique to calm global markets and recovery in the Rupee also could not lift the sagging spirits of the markets.Finally, the BSE Sensex ended at 16,162, dropping 199 points.
