  • 1. Medical website design : Part IWeb Design - The Pros And Cons Of FlashFirstly what is flash? Well Flash refers to both the Macromedia Flash Player and to a multimediaauthoring program used to create content it (such as games and movies). The Flash Player is a clientapplication available in most web browsers. It features support for vector and raster graphics, a scriptinglanguage called ActionScript and bidirectional streaming of audio and video.Macromedia Flash is the integrated development environment (IDE) and Flash Player is the virtualmachine used to run the Flash files, but nowadays these terms have become mixed: "Flash" can meaneither the authoring environment, the player, or the application files.Since its introduction in 1996, Flash technology has become a very popular method for adding animationand interactivity to web pages. Flash can be used to create fantastic animations; to design web-pageelements and also to add video to web sites. Websites made with flash can be much more interactiveand flashier (pardon the pun) than site made with only html. The Flash files, or "flash movies", usually have a .swf file extension and may appear as an element of aweb page or to be "played" in the standalone Flash Player.Due to wide usage of Flash in web advertisements and the extra time it takes to load these pages, toolshave emerged for blocking Flash content in some or all web sites, or temporarily or permanently turningFlash Player off, such as FlashBlock and Adblock for the Mozilla Firefox browser. If Flash has been disabled in a web browser then users may be unable to access some Flash-dependentwebsites, or may experience a degraded user interface.Using Flash content stores the content of the web page in a binary file and since Flash uses animations, the design of the page is not static. These factors make Flash-based content unsuitable for indexing bysearch engines.Misuse of Flash software has led to the creation of a new industry term "Flashterbation," where thetechnology is used in a way that lacks customer focus.

See http://breezywebsites.com for details!Medical website design : End of Part IWeb Design: Is your Website User Friendly? It is important to pay attention to little details that make the site easier to use by visitors. Sometimessmall details make the difference, and the user likes our site better than other sites, just because hefeels comfortable navigating it, and finds what he wants easily. Of course, it depends on the audienceyou expect for your website. For instance, if you have a website for professional designers, then you donot need to keep it that simple. Users will find their way and probably enjoy that sophisticated andstrange menu system that is a piece of art. But if you expect a general audience, it is better to keepthings nice and simple. The site usage should be intuitive. This is a list of several aspects you shouldconsider:· Let the user adjust the font size, avoid using fixed font sizes in your stylesheet. If you use fixedfonts, at least make them big enough so they can be read by people with sight problems.· Make the forms clear and avoid crowded pages. Insert text hints when necessary so usersalways know what they have to input in each field. You may also use a small help icon next to the formfield that users can press to get a pop-up with more information about the field usage.· If you use menus, make sure they are easy to use. It is better if they are not too sophisticated ifthe site is for a general audience.
  • 3. · Use the ALT and TITLE attributes in images. This will also help you with positioning your site insearch engines.· Make sure the site content is easy to access. This means that you placed the pages in the logicalmenus or submenus. Try to think as the user would think. You may ask someone else to use the site andgive you feedback, since it is hard to realize if content is easy to access for others.· Minimize the number of clicks to get to destination pages. Try not to nest pages inside menus, then submenu, then submenu… .Two or three levels should be enough for most cases.· Contact Us page should be accessible from all pages. Include a form in the page so users cansend you comments. If they found trouble using the site, they will probably tell you and you can fix theproblem for future users. It is also a good idea to include a “Comments about this website” link in allpages footer so users can send a message to the webmaster.· Choose the colors wisely. Different color schemas may help identify different areas of the site, for example.· Make sure text is easily readable. Do not use too similar colors for text color and background.· If you have long pages, insert Back to Top links in the page body.· Keep design consistent throughout the site. This also helps you define an identity for yourwebsite.Hiring a web designer to come up with the custom solution that you need can set you back a fewthousand bucks. But you can do the whole thing yourself and make it drag and drop simple for merepennies with a tool like Breezy Websites. • 4. Web Design –Website design doesnt have to be as complicated as it seems. With some work and creativity, your website can break through and get some huge success and increasetraffic. To get started have to observe other webites and think what you like best about them. What are the things, that they have but you dont? How they bring so much traffic? If you are looking to have a web design that has great graphics and visual effects that will catch aviewers eye then the first step is to find a template that matches your desired web design. A template isthe first step to a web design, it is you skeleton if you will. Finding a template that has all that you wantplus the graphics that may suit you best is not too difficult. It just requires you to spend some time onthe internet searching through the hundreds of companies that offer template services. In one of thosecompanies you are bound to find something that you like. Not to mention that with the use of a template you can have a uniform professional web design.Once you have the template picked there is that pesky matter of the content on your web page. Areader will not want to read something that makes them feel that they are reading a school textbook. They are going to want something that is entertaining and feels enjoyable to read.Easy navigation through the web design will aid in the viewers ease through out the website making ituser friendly and pleasant. To do this make room for navigation cues that are on the website directlyand in a logical place on the page. For example it is best to have the navigation cues at the top or thebottom of the page as opposed to the middle of the page.A global discussion board: <a href="http://www.24chan.com">24chan </a>discussion about website design and stuff.
