Client Requirements Our clients wanted us to demonstrate transparency within our business: We created www.hobsonandportershare.co.uk using Google Docs Our clients wanted us to demonstrate collaborative project planning We converted our programmes using GanttProject, a free open-source application Our clients wanted us to demonstrate a collaborative learning culture within the business We set up site specific blogs to share progress and lessons learned, and engage suppliers Our clients wanted us to demonstrate a commitment to safety, CO2 and waste reduction We created Target Zero, a blog dedicated to these areas
H&P Requirements H&P needed to create evidence in support of its bids Use of blogs and social media created a digital footprint on the web H&P wanted to maximise its evidence within tight word limits imposed by prequal docs We embedded external links within the submission to our blogs and websites H&P wanted to position itself as innovative and forward thinking The blog format let us show not only what we were doing, but what we were thinking
Results Over £12m of work won on a quality basis Clients have commented on the innovative use of Web applications We have been invited to speak at numerous industry events We are currently developing a web based intranet to manage key areas of our business We are developing websites and forums to serve the industry as a whole, and have applied for various sources of public funding to achieve this achieve this
