IntroductionWhen we went tothe West it was verydry and hot but itseemed nice, I thinkI’m going to like thisplace!
1822My mom and I wentto see how theweather was outsideand it was ablizzard! Trees werebeing knockeddown, it was bad.We went to go checkon the cattle and thetrees fell on thebarnyard!
1822We called for helpand found out all ourcattle were dead.We started to buildbut we neededlumber. AndtheLivelywas late sowe were almostbroke.
1823 We found out the Lively had sank.There was a dispute with Mexicans overthe export of cotton. It was a wonderful year for the cattle.
1823It was a very mildwinter. There was asmall demand forthe lumber. And nota lot of building.
1824The colony was verysuccessful. Thecrops were doingwell and growing likethey should.
1824Then there was aHIGH demand forlumber, and lots ofbuilding. And moredemand for beef.
ConcludingAt the end of theyear my family lost alot of money. Fromliving in La Bahia,since we were so farin the border thatIndians attacked us.
ConcludingSo, our family lost$2,000 dollars. Weare going to go upnorth. At least now Iknow that I had awonderful time hereand hope to livebetter up north!
