2. The Learners
My class is a group of 19 second graders: 9
boys and 10 girls. 3 children are African
American, and 2 children are Latino.
3. Main Objective
My students will recognize and describe different types of wild life
found in the different regions of the world. They will locate the
continents or countries on a globe and tell me what animals live
where and give small details about their habitats such as weather
they endure and the food the animals eat. The students will give a
small group presentation at the end of the lesson providing
information on a specific location given to them. They will be using
the information they find throughout the week with the tools I give
them. We will be using many types of technology throughout the
lesson. This lesson will last a week, and students will have a 100%
success rate.
4. Day by Day….
Day 1: The Americas (North, South, Central)
(Students will be given their group continent also this day)
Day 2: Africa
Day 3: Antarctica & Australia
Day 4: Asia & Europe
Day 5: Review and discussion, Presentation
day.
5. Use of Technology
As a class we will have open discussions on the different
regions of the world and the wildlife that inhabits these
regions. We will be using web quests, Twitter,
Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, poster making, and blogs
as tools to teach about the different parts of the world,
what the areas are like, and what animals inhabit these
places.
