Lesson focus is conjunctions, lookfor where they have used a conjunction correctly.2. Find something that is nearly correct and support/question them while they fix it.3. Find something that is incorrect and show them how tofix it.

    6. 6. Learning CentresLearning centres are used while the teacher takes asmall guided reading or reciprocal reading group.Students are grouped according to like needs, not likelevels. For example, students who need to developexpression when reading.Students have learning engagements to suit theirlearning needs- learning centres are not activityrotations.

Expectations for during Learning CentresStudents work quietly and help each other asneeded.Students work independently.Students know that they are not to interrupt theGuided Reading session with the teacher.If students need help they should follow the "When Idont know what to do, I can..." poster.

ConfidentialityThe privacy of both parents and child must be respected at all times.Children can easily be hurt by apparently harmless remarks from theirpeers or other children.There is an expectation that information we share with you andobservations you make of student ability and behavior in theclassroom will be kept confidentialIf another parent approaches you about their own or another child’sprogress please direct them to speak to us
    14. 14. Bus PassesCurrently you need to email cdnis@kcm.com.hkand request a seat on the bus, indicating that youare volunteering for a school activity.Changes to be made from October 31
    15. 15. Bus pass changes to be made from October 31If you require a bus pass, you will need to let yourteacher know at least one week before you starthelping in the classroom. The teacher will then organize for you to have a‘regular helpers’ pass, so that you can catch thebus.The pass states which months, days and times youwill be helping.
