Haifa, Israel Presentation Transcript

  • 1. How can someone not fall in love with such a sight?
  • 2. The unique structures of the Bahai temple, Dagon granary, the cranes in the port, dad maneuvering the meandering streets… Haifa was a magical maze hiding surprises.
  • 3. It was only when I grew up that I found the perfect excuse to know Haifa better: study in its university.
  • 4. In all coast towns of Israel, moving along the coast means you advance north or south. But driving from Carmel beach towards the port, you actually turn 135 degrees. This wicked mount Carmel and the gulf of Haifa! Add the mountainous residential areas, the creeks dissecting the city, the meandering roads, and get a city which is far from “straight forward”, literally…
  • 5. 500meters above sea level, on Eshkol Tower’s 30th floor, resides one of the best viewpoints in Israel. Except for views to Mt. Hermon in the north and Tel Aviv in the south, it’s the best place to start a tour in Haifa and get oriented.
  • 6. ‫צ‬ We arrive from Tel Aviv to “Carmel Beach” Drive to the foots of Ahuza, Carmelia and Kababir Passing the National Oceanographic Institute we reach the tip of the Carmel, under “Stella Maris” Bat Galim is to the left, above us the Bahaii gardens and next – Hadar Hacarmel Downtown we pass near the port on the way to “Check Post” junction
  • 7. ‫צ‬ Here’s “Carmel Beach” This is the tip of the Carmel ridge The South Western part of the Gulf of Haifa where Haifa port is located
  • 8. Haifa does not make a fuss of itself and does not need to reinvent itself. With its unique beauty, luxury is out of the question, and in its humble way, it doesn’t need to show it off.
  • 9. *Well ain’t that just a masculine habit? I like exploring Haifa top down and bottom up * Every viewing spot reveals something intriguing.
  • 10. Numerous staircases connect the Carmel neighborhoods with the sea, traversing Haifa’s hidden treasures.
  • 11. Even memorials in Haifa are unique: Builders of the Hijaz railway, “Dakar” submarine soldiers and the Jewish Partisan warriors.
  • 12. Haifa is soaked in dazzling green, like I haven’t seen anywhere in Israel nor even in some famous cities abroad.
