  • USED JOB SHACK TIPSTER… Read the job description (below) once, read it twice as it is the blueprint to getting this job. This is a very fine example of an employer telling you directly what kind of person they are going to hire. Make a matrix on a piece of blank paper. On one side list all of the skills that they are looking for. On the other side list ALL of the skills that match from their list (FOR EACH JOB) and…NOW…this becomes your job description for each job. Make sure that you use their key words and/or phrases because a computer will first review your application (a computer does not reason that this is the same as that...you must do that for the computer…never thought that you were smarter than a computer…did ya?) A little bit of time, a little effort can get you in the running for a job that will change your life…

Face to face was with a supervisor and someone from
  • their people department.... 4 days later I was offered the position. I had 48 hrs. to complete testing. NEGOTIATION DETAILS –no negotiations -------------------------------------------------------------- RAMP AGENT AT SOUTHWEST AIRLINES - NO OFFER – MAR 18, 2013 Interview Details –Applied for a position at SFO and got an e-mail the next week saying they will be conducting phone interviews the next day up until 6 weeks so give it some time. I then got a call the 2nd day after the e-mail and the lady asked me (see interview questions below). All in all very professional and funny too. Didn't really ask me too many questions because I worked for airline somewhat like Southwest for 4 years basically doing the same thing they do but the planes I worked on were a lot bigger. I think if you like to work out; I think this is the job for you because you are basically getting paid to workout. UPDATE: Got a call for a face to face interview in 2 weeks so hopefully it goes well. Wish me luck! INTERVIEW QUESTIONS • What are the basic requirements to work for this position? • Asks about your resume and recent jobs. • Why South West? • Can you bend, lift, stand and twist up to 70 pounds? • Can you be able to travel up to 2 weeks for training possibly in another state? --------------------------------------------------------------- RAMP AGENT SERVICE AT SOUTHWEST AIRLINES - NO OFFER – FEB 1, 2013 Interview Details –I had a recruiter who wanted to talk to me. They sent me a message saying I was up for a phone interview with zero choice of time or date. Given they call from a different state- they had no respect for the fact that the area I was in had just experienced a major tornado and there wasn't power and phone lines that were functioning were minimal. When the recruiter finally called, she asked me nothing about what would make me a good candidate for the position. All she seemed to be fixated on was how old I was-and why I only had an 8 year job history, not 10 (I would have been 14 ten years ago). She asked me why I left me last job and I explained that my entire dept. had their positions eliminated. . . The interviewer then said "oh so you were fired for doing a bad job".... (COULD YOU EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCE TO THIS HR STAFF?) ----------------------------------------------------------------- RAMP AGENT AT SOUTHWEST AIRLINES - ACCEPTED OFFER – DEC 23, 2011 Interview Details –You will start off with a phone interview with a recruiter. Very simple and ask basics of the job you are applying for. Then will move onto group interview. My interview had 3 people in it and it was pretty straight forward.
  • Interview Question – • Describe the most chaotic time at your past employer? ---------------------------------------------------------------- RAMP AGENT AT SOUTHWEST AIRLINES - NO OFFER Interview Details –Applied via Southwest Web site got a call 2 days later, which consist of an initial phone interview, if they like your response, you get a 1:1 interview I think the questions didn’t make sense though, most person have no experience. I think if you have a back ground in the warehouse industry that's a plus for you Interview Questions • Why Southwest? • Do you have any experience in the Airline industry? • Have you ever work in any warehouse of any kind? ------------------------------------------------------------- RAMP AGENT AT SOUTHWEST AIRLINES - NO OFFER Interview Details –Initial contact was with a recruiter. They sent an email requesting a phone number to be contacted at for a phone interview. The next day I was called, participated in the phone interview, and was offered a face to face interview at BWI. The face to face interview consisted of a ''People Department'' individual and the recruiter I had talked to for the phone interview. The phone interview was much easier than the face to face. I can suggest something that I read here, be prepared for the interview. It is Southwest, so be prepared for some 'different' questions. Interview Questions • Why Southwest? • Why do you want to be a Ramp Agent? • Out of your past jobs, which one was your favorite, and why? • Where do you see yourself in 3 to 5 years? • How do you bring ''Fun'' to work? ------------------------------------------------------------- RAMP AGENT AT SOUTHWEST AIRLINES - ACCEPTED OFFER Interview Details –Group interview then phone interview then they set up a one on one interview and if you pass all that they send you to get drug tested and do a background check Interview Question – • Name a time when you had to deal with a decision a co-worker made that you disagreed with. What did you do? ------------------------------------------------------------

  • A SERVER AT THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY MUST SCORE ____ OR MORE ON A 400 ITEM MENU EXAM IN ORDER TO WORK ON THE FLOOR. BUT...DON'T SWEAT IT...STUDY! AND... MAKE FLASH CARDS TO LEARN THE MENU. We had a question further down about a cheat sheet for Cheesecake Factory's Server Training...They are a great company...extremely hard to get on with and then you have to pass a server test to actually get out on the floor. THE TEST IS COMPLICATED BECAUSE THEY HAVE 150+ MENU ITEMS THAT YOU NEED TO KNOW. Many times if you were hired with a group...they form a study group...other people make or get suckered into buying expensive flash cards (ya! like back in school)... Here is the general INTEL we can give out without getting sued...they REALLY get bent out of shape over the posting of the actual test...and should. So we are doing a West Texas-Two Step here and read below or better yet...wink...wink. Take those old time staff out for a drink or four after work...wink...wink! IT IS NOT THAT HARD...BUT, DOES REQUIRE HOME STUDY AND GOOD MEMORY SKILLS! Newly hired servers train a mandatory 3 week training leading up to final exam & involves: * Food & beverage steps of service. * Food ingredients. * Table maintenance * Orchestration/Timing A server at the Cheesecake Factory must score ____ or more on the 400 item menu exam in order to work on the floor. (I've heard 80-90%) Your training will take you about 3 weeks to complete and the menu test are hard and will take a lot of studying. A NEW Server at the Cheesecake factory said: I just got a job at the cheesecake factory as a server and I would love to know what it's been like! What did you like about it?! What tips could you give me? I am freaking out about the 5 day training which my manager said was intense and stressful. There are apparently 150 food items that I have to memorize and 2 extensive and detailed tests which you have to pass with a 90%, otherwise you lose your job...
  • ANSWER 1: I took a class in Meeting Planning and had to memorize AIRPORT CODES!! Some don't make sense, like Chicago O'Hare is ORD. I made flash cards for them, and carried them everywhere I went. Any time I was standing in line or whatever I busted them out & went through them. I aced the test, only got a handful wrong. I recently got a serving job in an Italian restaurant & was unfamiliar with some of the menu items, so I made flash cards. I told another server, thinking he would laugh at me and he said "I did that!” IT WORKS!! Go through the menu & make flashcards out of whatever you think you may have a problem with. As far as the training, do what your server tells you, try to get in as much computer time as possible (see if you can enter her orders), and ask lots of questions. TAKE NOTES. For me, once I write it down, I remember it, and you can always refer to that later. Good Luck! I hear CF is a great place to work!! --------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: THERE ARE SEVERAL PLACES THAT SELL PRE-MADE FLASH CARDS - As we don't know these companies first hand...can't recommend them. yahoo search flash cards for CF Server Test.
