  • SALES ASSOCIATE AT BEST BUY - Accepted Offer –May 12, 2013Interview Details –Applied online, they got back to me within a couple of weeks.Had two interviews, was hired on the spot. Typical questions were asked, nothing that reallystood out. The interview process is nothing to be worried about, just know answers toquestions like, "When was a time you worked best as a team?"Interview Question –There wasnt a question that was too difficult or unexpected.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------CASHIER AT BEST BUY - ACCEPTED OFFER–MAY 12, 2013Interview Details –You have two sit down interviews with managers they ask standardquestions. Why do you want to work here? They discuss the job details.Interview Question –name a time you had to work on a project alone and were not sure how todo it, what would you do--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------COMPUTER SPECIALIST AT BEST BUY - ACCEPTED OFFER –MAY 8, 2013Interview Details –After applying online and taking that tedious personality assessment, I wasfirst contacted with a phone interview which took about 5 minutes. Simple questions such as:Why do you want to work for Best Buy? What is your availability? Etc. afterwards theyscheduled my first interview which was 3 days later with the 2 managers. The interview wasapproximately 25 minutes of scenario questions which they read from an interview guide. Mybest advice here is to be as specific and detailed as possible and tie it in to past experience thatis similar. They are required to take notes while you talk so dont be alarmed, just answerconfidently and youll be fine. After the interview was over the manager told me that I will becontacted to schedule my final interview with the GM, he said if i nail that one i got the job justbe myself and i should do fine.I got a call the next day to schedule my interview with the GM; it was shorter than the previousinterview with similar scenario questions but fewer. The trick to this interview is to nail thequestion on shrink which is very important to the company since its an ongoing problem whichis impossible to fix completely but can be controlled if employees take the right precautions.Basically itll be a question like"What would you do if you saw another employee steal something?" or"If you were the manager and an employee stole an item what punishmentshould the employee receive?"You basically have to convey the message that stealing shouldnt be tolerated no matter whatin your response. After i nailed that question and answered the scenario questions satisfactorilyi was made a job offer but it was contingent upon passing a criminal background check anddrug screen which took about a week for them to get the results. Then i got a call fororientation which was just watching a bunch of best buy videos for 5 hours and introductions. The training was just e-learning and shadowing employees for 2 weeks.Interview Question –Most of the questions were the same just scenarios questions which ithoroughly prepared for beforehand, but if i would have to choose 1 since i hate to talk aboutmyself and didnt know what kind of answer they were looking for i would have to say "Whatdo you feel are your strengths and weaknesses?"----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SALES CONSULTANT AT BEST BUY - ACCEPTED OFFER –MAY 6, 2013Interview Details –I had three interviews, first one over the phone. they just asked myavailability and what department i would like to work at. Second interview with Departmentmanager. It was a group interview which was a bit easy three questions and manager was very
  • nice. The third interview was with general manager. Basically asked why i wanted to work hereand what i would do if i was manager and caught an employee stealing, i said I’d fire him and hewas happy with my answer. Then got the job offer in the spot!Interview Question –What is something you had to learn by yourself and how did you learn it?---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SALES ASSOCIATE AT BEST BUY - ACCEPTED OFFER– MAY 6, 2013Interview Details –Had two interviews the first interview was with one of the managers orsupervisors. Ask pretty easy stuff. Didnt require me to give them a resume or cover letter. Aslong as you answer smartly dress nice you should be fineInterview Question –Name a time when you failed and how you overcame that failure----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Cashier at Best Buy - Accepted Offer– May 12, 2013Interview Details –You have two sit down interviews with managers they ask standardquestions. Why do you want to work here? They discuss the job details.Interview Question –name a time you had to work on a project alone and were not sure how todo it, what would you do?---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------CASHIER AT BEST BUY - NO OFFER – INTERVIEWED APR 16, 2013Interview Details –I applied spring break looking for summer job.Ask the question why Best Buy? Job experience. What is the hardest customer you dealt with?Do you work as team or by yourself? What pace do you like to work at?What was one time you went beyond for a customer?Interview Question –What is the hardest customer you dealt with?-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------CASHIER AT BEST BUY - ACCEPTED OFFER – MAR 13, 2013Interview Details –I applied online with a referral from an employee of 4 years. After gettingthrough the online "test" my application was forwarded to the store. I was asked to come in foran initial interview, and as it was one of my first jobs I was nervous and did not interview well(oh well, my fault).I was asked to come in for a second interview and sat down with the stores General Manager(a genuinely nice guy) who was unable to offer me a spot in the position I wanted (PC Sales) dueto my lack of sales experience but offered me a cashier position with the possibility of movingup (as Best Buy hires in-house first for nearly all positions).Interview Question –The questions were pretty standard. Some tricky ones like "what wouldyou consider your greatest weakness" but nothing too bad.A huge tip is to not mention salary/money at all in the interviewprocess, if you get offered the job you can negotiate then, but thecompany looks for new hires with the motivation to do good work. Ifyoure motivated by money Best Buy is not for you.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------CASHIER AT BEST BUY - ACCEPTED OFFER – REVIEWED MAR 12, 2013Interview Question –Describe your previous jobs, what you liked and disliked about them, andcompare them to Best Buy.
