    • 10 ReputationManagement Tips for Your Local Business Presented by: Fran Hylinski 408-480-5637 fran@footprint2pointo.com www.footprint2pointo.com
    • Google Yourself  Google your business name to find out what is being said about your business online  The only way to manage it is to “know” about it
    • Answer Negative Reviews  Do not ignore negative comments  Be proactive and talk to the person who wrote the review to see how you can fix the problem  This shows the public that you care
    • Start Blogging  Blog posts help push down negative reviews and get them off of page one  The more you blog, the faster your blog posts will fill up the search engine results
    • Distribute Press Releases  Publish press releases on a regular basis to keep a steady stream of fresh, positive content on the web about your business  Press releases can also push down negative customer reviews in the search engine results
    • Get Social  Google places a lot of quality on social media sites – the more social media profiles you have, the better  Ask your happy social media followers/customers to leave reviews for your company
    • Join Industry Specific Forums  Find forums related to your industry and join them  Become active on these forums and always have your business link in your signature if allowed  Frequently offer insight and advice about your industry; become the authority in your local area
    • Practice Search Engine Optimization  Make sure your website and other web properties are fully optimized  Be sure to use the right keywords  Good for more exposure and for building a strong reputation in terms of relevance and importance
    • Think Before You Speak Online  Once you poste information on the web, it is out there and can’t be taken back so post carefully  Can what you’re about to say HURT your business? If so, don’t say it
    • Use Photos Online and Optimize Them  People like to see who they’re doing business with so the more photos the better  Have photos of yourself, your business, your employees, and your products posted online  Use keywords to name your photos so they rank in the search engines
    • Buy Domains with YourBusiness Name in Them  Once you purchase these domains, put up smaller sites related to your business  Sites should rank easily due to your business name being in them  These sites will help push down any negative customer reviews in the search engines
