This letter from Bishop Francisco de Assis da Silva of the Southwestern Diocese in Brazil offers prayers and consolation to the Most Revd. Samuel Azariah and his people in Pakistan following a tragedy. The bishop says he will pray for those mourning the dead and fighting for life, and that the cathedral in Santa Maria will offer prayers in memory of those now in the triumphant Church and for their families on the upcoming Sunday. The bishop also prays for God's strength and full recovery for those wounded, and says Bishop Azariah and his entire flock are in his deepest thoughts. He asks God to give Bishop Azariah strength of the Holy Spirit to persevere in helping his people as a spiritual father.

To the Most Revd. Samuel Azariah
Dear Brother,
Grace and Peace!
Receive our prayers and consolation to you and your people in Pakistan.
I`ll raise my heart to God asking for his merci and grace to those who are mourning the dead
and for those who are fighting for life.
Remember you are not alone in the way of the cross! Next Sunday in our Cathedral, here in
Santa Maria, we will offer our prayers in memory of those who are now in the triumphant
Church and also for their families. To those who are wounded, we will ask for God`s strength
and full recovering.
You and all your flock are in my deepest thoughts. May you receive the strength of the Holy
Spirit to persevere in help your people as a spiritual father!
Please forward this message to the Rt Revd. Humphrey Peters and also to the Rt Revd. Irfan
Jamil, who attended beside me the Course for new bishops in Canterbury, last year.
Faithfully in Christ,
