  5. 5. Translators NoteThis little work consists of a collection of passages from theScriptures under convenient subject headings gathered bySwedenborg for his use in the composition of rus works. Theoriginal manuscript has no title, and probably was not intended for publication. Dr. lm. Tafel issued an edition of theLatin text at Tübingen, in 184S, and gave it the title DictaProbantia (proof Passages). In Dr. Tafels edition, however, the subjects are arranged alphabetically, following the Latinsubject headings. In trus translation ~he_.<?!..der of the subjects is that of the o.~~inal manuscript. The pareiltlieSêS( ).aitbe-beglücingand th;;~nd-orcertainparagraphs were introduced by Dr. Tafel to indicate that the author had crossed ruspen over the parts so marked: it is probable that he did sowhen he used them in rus published writings._1bÇ.."fïgllrc:s found at the sides of the pages ll!e:.a_~ i(l t!J,eoriginal manusëi:1pt,--ana-iéfèr to the-Table of Subjects.
