The British Imperialism Pop Up ChallengeYour challenge today will be to work in international teams to design a variety of creativeproducts that help to explain the impact of British Imperialism around the world. Theseproducts will be shared at the end of the day in the school’s Gallery in the form of a PopUp exhibition.The teamsEach team will have members from Denmark and the UK and will be assigned an adultmentor. The mentor can advise and prompt but students should be responsible for thenature and quality of the investigation. You will need to think carefully about how youcommunicate with each other, make decisions, delegate tasks and manage your time.The toolsYou will have access to a variety of traditional resources - paper, pens, paint etc. - digitallearning devices - iPod Touches, iPads, laptops, IWB. Your choice of tools will depend onthe nature of your investigation. For example, you may decide to create an animated ﬁlm,a hand drawn poster, a dramatic performance, a photo slideshow or a combination ofcreative products. You may need to visit the school library as well as search for informationonline. You will need to balance your ambitions and the need to complete worksuccessfully within the given time frame.The exhibitionYou will be allocated some wall space in the Gallery to display your creative products. Youwill also be able to display digital work on the IWB. You should attempt to document allyour products and the story of your day in some form, perhaps on a special blog orwebsite that will last beyond the Pop Up exhibition.At the end of the day there will be time for all the teams to share their learning.
